A STARK CONTRAST TO
The "Wrong Kind" of voting
According to the web site www.ontheissues.org, Mr. Kind's voting record also shows the type of values he holds:
THE WRONG KIND OF VOTING:
Mr. Kind voted NO on banning partial-birth abortion. NO on restricting interstate transport of minors to get an abortion. YES on human embryonic stem cell research. Mr. Kind holds a 100% rating from the pro-abortion group NARAL. A "prestigious" honor for liberal elites - certainly not for me and the American children who have died from abortion.
THE STARK DIFFERENCE:
I am a conservative candidate that will not let you down on pro-life issues. Life begins at the moment of conception and ends at natural death. All people in all stages of life at all levels of health or wealth are equally important and need to be given a chance to live and contribute to our great American society. I will never vote to allow the pre-born to be brutally murdered.

On Traditional Family Values:
THE WRONG KIND OF VOTING:
Mr. Kind voted NO on a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. NO against banning of gay adoptions in Washington DC. NO on ending preferential treatment by race in college admissions. NO on allowing school prayer during the War on Terror. He favors more funding for stricter sentencing for hate crimes thereby limiting the rights of our freedom of speech. For example, if religious organizations speak out against immoral or unethical behavior based on their religious values, beliefs and teachings, hate crime laws could be used to punish them for the "wrong kind" of thought. It is not surprising that Mr. Kind holds a 100% rating by the liberal ACLU and a 0% by the Christian Coalition.
THE STARK DIFFERENCE:
The traditional American family contains one man and one woman and is the foundation of our country and our society. The ideal place to raise a child is a home where the child's Mom and Dad are there to love and nurture them. The best place to teach our children about morality, ethics, family structure and family life are in the home, not our public, tax funded government schools. We need to support and promote, not denigrate the American family. We need to support and strengthen the laws we already have that limit crime - all crime is hateful - and stop trying to legislate people's right to speak out against what they believe is risky and immoral behavior. I will not vote to punish people if they have the "wrong kind" of thinking (sounds Stalinist to me).

THE WRONG KIND OF VOTING:
On protecting the Pledge of Allegiance - NO. Mr. Kind wants the courts to decide the constitutionality of the Pledge of Allegiance. Is not the Pledge of Allegiance a proud statement of our belief in OUR country? He voted NO on a constitutional amendment against desecrating our American flag, the Stars and Stripes, the symbol of the greatest nation on Earth. Mr. Kind clearly, by his record, does NOT want English as our national language.
THE STARK DIFFERENCE:
We need a representative that will stand up proudly and proclaim that the Pledge of Allegiance is part of our heritage. What is more natural than pledging your support to your country? This is what makes America great - we can be a nation with different beliefs and still be a nation that deserves our allegiance. All countries, religious groups, community groups and even families have symbols, flags, crosses or family crests that represent the organization or beliefs the members love and hold dear to their hearts.
Allowing the desecration of the American flag is promoting a great insult to this country.
We need to start rebuilding pride in our country. We need to stand up for this country, the great "melting pot" of the world, and recognize that we can each hold our special and sacred traditions. But, we must teach ourselves and our children that we are all Americans first.
English is the language we speak, our flag is the greatest symbol we have of our pride in and love for America, and our Pledge is the spoken support we give our country.
THE WRONG KIND OF VOTING:
Like nearly all Democrats, Mr. Kind wants choice when it comes to aborting a baby's life, but they don't want you to have a choice when it comes to your children's education (not very child friendly is it?). He voted NO on vouchers for charter, private and parochial schools (the very liberal NEA is against this too). NO on allowing vouchers in Washington, DC . Again, whose money is it? If they don't like vouchers then let us have more of our hard earned money and we will decide where our children go to school. That way we won't upset their delicate "tolerance" mentality or disturb their phantom "wall of separation" that is clearly not in the First Amendment.
THE STARK DIFFERENCE:
New reports have recently shown how dismal public education is today. Nearly half of all high school students in large cities will not graduate from high school. Drop-outs from 2007 alone will cost the nation more than $300 billion in lost wages, taxes and productivity. The teachers' union's (NEA), with the backing of democrats, will clamor for more money (see Einstein's Theory of Insanity) to supposedly "fix" the problem.
Ladies and gentlemen, government interference is the problem. We need to give all families a choice to where their children go to school. Who knows best what is right for our kids? You and I, not the government! I will fight for you so you can send your child to the school of your choice to promote the style of learning of your choice. I will demand that public schools get out of the business of teaching and promoting non-traditional family values while treating traditional family values with disrespect, promoting and allowing certain activist days (silence for "gay rights") while not allowing others to express their views (not flying a flag on public school property after September 11 or not allowing a pro-life or prayer day, for example). Public schools need to get back to teaching the basics and leave the job of teaching children morality and ethics to their parents.
Competition in a voucher system would put the pressure back on government schools to stay in the business of teaching our children to be knowledgeable citizens and strong leaders of society.
Remember, it's your money. Demand results or else they will continue to ride roughshod over your values.
The children of our country are the future of this great nation. We must prepare all children to be productive citizens that contribute in a positive way to our society. If we don't fix this huge mess now, we will continue to grow the entitlement system in this nation and you and I and our children will be paying more and more for them for the rest of our lives.

THE WRONG KIND OF VOTING:
Did Ron Kind vote for promoting marriage? NO! He voted NO on eliminating the "marriage penalty." NO on reducing the marriage penalty by $399 billion over 10 years. NO on $46 billion in tax cuts for small business. NO on a tax cut package of $958 billion over 10 years. NO on eliminating the estate tax (death tax). NO on making President Bush's tax cuts permanent. NO on retaining reduced taxes on capital gains & dividends.
THE STARK DIFFERENCE:
High taxation and onerous regulations are sending too many of our businesses overseas. Unless we simplify the tax code, reduce taxes, reduce wasteful government spending and eliminate government regulations that stifle economic growth, the exodus of American businesses will continue.
Ask yourself, can we afford to lose more Western WIsconsin businesses to the overseas market and still keep our people employed?
Democrats rail against "big" business all the time. It is one of their favorite bogeymen on which to heap blame. Without a strong business climate, we lose businesses. When we lose businesses, we lose jobs. When we lose jobs, we lose our ability to support our families, to prove our self worth, to increase our self esteem, to build for our future and to buy products and services that will support and create more new jobs for our friends and neighbors.
Americans are doers. We like to work and we take pride in our work. I will work hard to lower taxes and ease regulations to make the United States of America the best place on Earth to do Business.

THE WRONG KIND OF VOTING:
Mr. Kind voted YES on extending immigrant residency rules. NO in reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment. YES on building a fence at the Mexican border which is not built yet. Why has he not demanded that this wall be built now? On top of all of the above, Mr. Kind does not believe we should make English the official language of the United States because that would be "intolerant" and not "inclusive." Intolerant of whom? We are Americans. We can learn and speak other languages if we desire but as a nation, we speak English. Period.
THE STARK DIFFERENCE:
I will stand up for your values in demanding that our border be secured right now! Why? Safety and security dictates that we should know who is coming into and leaving our country. September 11, 2001 made that painfully clear. People here illegally gain in the benefits from America's hard working taxpayers without the responsibility of abiding by our laws and paying taxes themselves. We should also withhold federal funds from cities and states that offer sanctuary status and driver's licenses to illegals.
We have laws for legal immigration. These laws protect our rights and safety as American citizens and also protect the safety and dignity of those people who truly want to become a legal part of the American dream. Our government officials must enforce the existing laws. That is their job. That is why we put them in office! Washington has failed us miserably. We cannot wait any longer for Mr. Kind to take action - we must secure the border now and stop the illegal invasion.
